On 23rd April 2026, the Graz Sociodigital and Participatory Futures Studio (short: GraSP Futures Studio) was officially opened! This collaborative space for conducting participatory research with a range of social actors aims to imagine and co-create more inclusive and equitable sociodigital futures. It will build sustained engagements with local actors and residents, and in relation to an international network of similar centres.

The team of the Digital Societies research group led by Prof. Dr. Juliane Jarke and Dr. Laurène Cheilan builds on their experiences in participatory futuring, employing creative and arts-based methods such as body-mapping, erasure poetry, data walks, speculative design or cultural probes.

The GraSP Futures Studio will also play an important part for the participatory research carried out in the ComAI project P8. For example, a series of workshops with older women is planned for spring to jointly explore ComAI through participatory prompting.
