Patrick Frey
Research associate P6 "Political Discourse"
Patrick Frey is a research associate and PhD candidate at the Centre for Media, Communication and Information Research (ZeMKI) at the Research Unit ComAI since January 2025. He is part of the research project »Political discourse: ComAI and deliberative quality« led by Prof. Dr. Cornelius Puschmann und Dr. Gregor Wiedemann.
Previously, he completed a Master’s degree in Peace and Security Studies at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy at the University of Hamburg.
During his Master’s degree (2023-2024), he worked as a research assistant under Dr. Janina Pawelz in the BMBF-funded joint project NEOVEX, which analyzed patterns and dynamics of conspiracy theories and far-right ideologies in times of crisis. His master’s thesis explored how creators utilize generative AI to disseminate anti-Semitic conspiracy theories on TikTok.
Additionally, he holds a Master’s degree in International Social Work, where he focused on the climate-security nexus.
