Phillip Engelhardt
Research Associate P1 "Pioneer Communities"
Since January 2025, Phillip Engelhardt has been working as a research associate at the Centre for Media, Communication, and Information Research (ZeMKI) in the research unit “ComAI” as part of the subproject “Pioneer Communities: Imagining ComAI and its possible futures” led by Prof. Dr. Andreas Hepp.
After completing a master’s degree in Media Studies at the University of Bonn in 2020, he worked from 2020 to 2023 as a research assistant and research associate at the Institute for Linguistics, Media, and Musicology as part of the AI-working group “Autonomy and Autonomous Systems.” His master’s thesis critically discussed the concept of autonomy and its application to AI-systems. He earned his bachelor’s degree in 2017 at the University of Cologne in German Language and Literature as well as Media Culture Studies.
