ComAI members at the Innovation Forum at St Monica Trust
On 14 April, ComAI team members Leonie Winterpacht and Sara Skardelly (from the subproject “Health: Caring through ComAI”) took part in the Innovation Forum, organized by the Centre of Innovation at St Monica Trust in Bristol, UK. The annual forum brings together residents, innovators, researchers, and care providers who are interested in the future of care and emerging technologies. This year’s theme was the co-design of an intergenerational space to enable healthy ageing.
More than 250 participants joined a diverse program of workshops, talks, and technology presentations. Communicative AI (ComAI) was a prominent topic, raising questions about how these systems can support everyday care practices and healthy aging. Leonie and Sara contributed to this conversation by presenting selected findings from last year’s fieldwork in Bristol. Together with forum participants, they reflected on insights from co-research with older adults and presented results from interviews with innovation managers and care professionals.
The forum provided a great opportunity to engage in interesting conversation with and between residents and innovators and to get in contact with new field partners. These insights will also inform the next stages of the project.
