Marvin Waibel

Research associate P7 "Personal Sphere"

Marvin Waibel is a research associate and PhD candidate at the Department of Sociology at the University of Vienna. He is pursuing his PhD within the framework of the ComAI Project 7 “Personal Sphere: Companionship and ComAI”.

He completed his studies in sociology at the Universities of Cologne and Vienna. From 2020 to 2022, he worked as a research assistant at the Department of Economic Sociology at the University of Vienna. During this time, he conducted research within the Austrian Corona Panel Project and the DFG Research Group Distributive Preferences and Need-based Justice in Networks. Subsequently, he worked two years at the Federal Ministry of Education, Science, and Research.

Research interests: Sociology of knowledge, poststructuralism, interpretive subjectivation analysis, discursive constructions of reality, visual sociology.
