Andrea Heisse
Wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im Teilprojekt P7 "Personal Sphere"
Andrea is a predoctoral researcher in the Personal Sphere: Companionship and Communicative AI project at the Department of Sociology at the University of Vienna.
Before joining the project, Andrea worked as a communication staff member for Caritas Services. In 2023, she obtained her MA in Cultural Differences and Transnational Processes (Department of Cultural and Social Anthropology) at the University of Vienna. For her master’s thesis, Andrea conducted ethnographic research on trauma care for refugees in Austria, combining methods, theories and analytic tools from STS and Cultural and Social Anthropology. Furthermore, Andrea holds a B.Sc. in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam.
Her research interests lie in communication, artificial intelligence, social injustice, care, public health care, trauma, (forced) migration and medical anthropology.
